Himuro Camellia Garden (氷室椿庭園)

Himuro Setsugekka

Located in a residential area near Chigasaki Beach, the Himuro Camellia Garden (氷室椿庭園) is just a 15-minute walk from Chigasaki Station in the Higashikaiganminami area of Chigasaki, Kanagawa Prefecture. Originally the residence of Shoji Himuro, former vice president of Mitsui Fudosan, the garden was donated to the city and opened to the public in October 1991.

Covering roughly 2,800 square meters, the garden features about 1,300 camellia and pine trees, including 250 varieties of camellias. Among them is the Himuro Setsugekka (氷室雪月花), notable for its red sprayed pattern on a white or pink base.

The former Himuro residence, located on the northwest side of the garden, is recognized as a cultural property by the Japanese government.
