Hie Jinja (日枝神社) is a Shinto shrine located in the Tanaka area of Tsukuba, Ibaraki Prefecture. It enshrines the
kami (deities) Oyamakui-no-Kami (大山咋神), revered as the deity of sake brewing and worshipped in fields related to construction and civil engineering, and Okuninushi-no-Kami (大己貴神), the deity of nation-building, agriculture, and medicine. The shrine is also known by locals as Sanno-sama (山王さま).
Hie Jinja is said to have been founded in 860 by enshrining Hiyoshi Sanno (日吉山王) of Mount Hiei. It was reconstructed in 1219 by Oda Hitachi-no-suke (Vice-Governor of Hitachi Province). After being damaged by wind and fire in 1340, the shrine was rebuilt again in 1429 by Oda Takatomo.
An independent shrine, Mikazuki Jinja (三日月神社), stands in front of Hie Jinja.
