Intermediatheque (インターメディアテク), often abbreviated as IMT, is a free-admission museum and cultural space located on the second and third floors of KITTE, a shopping complex converted from the former Tokyo Central Post Office, an example of Japanese modernist architecture. Opened in March 2013, the museum is jointly managed by Japan Post and The University Museum, The University of Tokyo (UMUT).
The exhibits showcase specimens, instruments, and artifacts from the University of Tokyo's academic collections, including taxidermy of rare animals, fossils, minerals, historical scientific instruments, anatomical models, excavated artifacts, and ethnographic materials — displayed in antique European-style cabinets and furniture.
In addition to its permanent displays, IMT organizes special exhibitions on a regular basis. The current exhibition, FACES and FLORA, presents photographs by Filipino photographer Jan Zoilo Rafael Mayo.
