Geological Museum (地質標本館)

The Geological Museum (地質標本館) in Tsukuba, Ibaraki Prefecture, is Japan's largest geology-focused museum managed by the Geological Survey of Japan. Because it is located within the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), it can be a little difficult to find for first-time visitors. Those arriving by car must stop at the institute's entrance gate to obtain a temporary vehicle permit before entering the AIST grounds.
